Founded in 1939 by John Callaghan, our business began as a humble grocery and hardware store in Burt, Co. Donegal. Built on John’s commitment to serving the local community with good value and excellent customer service, the shop quickly became a trusted part of everyday life for families in the area. In the decades that followed, John’s sons, Dessie and Fintan, carried that legacy forward, expanding the business, becoming a Calor gas supplier, an electrical retailer, and a fuel station, steadily growing while staying true to the values their father established.

Today, we continue to serve the people of Burt and beyond with a wide range of essentials for home and life. From groceries and household goods to oil and gas, home heating supplies such as blocks, sticks and coal, and a popular hot food deli, we’re proud to remain a family-run local business that has evolved with the needs of our community. More than 80 years on, our mission remains the same: to provide value for money and a friendly experience every time you visit.
